Wildlife Month Quizzes 2026

Quiz Marathon

Every year, World Wildlife Month reminds us of the importance of understanding and protecting the natural world. This year, our quiz series was designed not just to test knowledge — but to encourage awareness, curiosity, and thoughtful engagement with nature

Over multiple rounds, participants from across the community joined in, making the competition both exciting and meaningful.

The competition consisted of five quiz rounds, each with 10 questions. Participants who scored a perfect 10/10 were declared winners for that round, while those scoring 9/10 and 8/10 were recognised as honourable mentions. In addition, we hosted a special Sparrow Quiz, featuring 12 questions, where top performers achieved a perfect 12/12. To go beyond factual knowledge, we also introduced a Moral Questions Round, encouraging participants to reflect, think critically, and connect emotionally with environmental issues.

A Fair and Thoughtful Scoring System

Rather than focusing only on perfect scores, we wanted to reward both excellence and consistency. So, we used a weighted system:

80% weightage to quiz performance
(including 10/10, 9/10, and 8/10 scores across all rounds), 20% weightage to moral reasoning

This ensured that: Participants who consistently performed well were recognised. A single mistake did not overshadow the overall effort. Both knowledge and values were fairly balanced.

At its heart, this quiz series was never only about scores, rankings, or winners. It was about creating a space where people pause, think, and reconnect with the natural world.

In a time where attention is constantly pulled in every direction, even taking a few minutes to answer questions about birds, ecosystems, and environmental challenges becomes an act of awareness. Each question was designed not just to test memory, but to spark curiosity — to make someone wonder why a species behaves a certain way, or what role it plays in the larger ecosystem.

Beyond knowledge, the initiative aimed to build sensitivity towards environmental issues. Through the moral questions, participants were invited to reflect — not as competitors, but as individuals — on their relationship with nature. These moments of reflection are where learning becomes deeper, more personal, and more lasting.

Most importantly, this series tried to create an experience where learning felt engaging, inclusive, and rewarding. Whether someone scored 10/10 or 8/10, every participant contributed to a shared journey of awareness. Because in the larger picture, what truly matters is not just how much we know — but how willing we are to learn, think, and care.

A Note from Our Quiz Masters

A few words from your quiz masters, Dharmik Bhatt and Monika Joshi:

"We are absolutely humbled by the enthusiastic response to the quiz. We've received so many wonderful messages on social media and personally, with many of you telling us how much you loved the questions and that they were well-crafted. It was a joy to put this quiz together for such a passionate audience! We also put a great deal of thought into the prizes. Our goal was to provide something that helps our winners continue their journey of learning. The Sanctuary Asia magazine subscriptions and the carefully chosen books are intended to do just that—to encourage a deeper and more continuous engagement with nature and conservation."

In every round, we saw different kinds of brilliance.

Some participants stood out with perfect scores precise, focused, and sharp.
Others showed incredible consistency, performing strongly across multiple quizzes. And many demonstrated thoughtful perspectives through their moral responses. Each of these qualities tells a different story.

Perfection wins rounds.
Consistency builds excellence. And when both are combined with values, it creates true champions. This competition reminded us that success is not defined by a single moment, but by a combination of effort, reflection, and persistence. To everyone who participated — whether you topped the leaderboard or quietly learned along the way — you are a part of this journey.

“A question we often ask ourselves is, ‘Why do we do this quiz?’ For us, it’s more than a competition. We designed it to help people not just gain knowledge, but to think deeply, especially with some of the morality-based questions. This quiz is a way to keep people talking about various environmental topics—from the complexities of industrial fishing problems to the fundamental joy of identifying an animal. Our aim is to cover these basics and show how they can profoundly affect our lives and the lives of the wildlife we share this planet with.

A Final Word

Congratulations once again to all our winners on their well-deserved prizes! Your dedication is truly inspiring. To everyone who took part, thank you for making the 2nd World Wildlife Month Quiz marathon a memorable event. We will be contacting the prize winners shortly regarding the next steps. Stay curious, keep learning, and we can't wait to see you all again next year!
